The club traveled to San Diego last weekend to play in the SD Sol Memorial Day Tournament. It's the first time we played in this tournament so we were excited to see what was waiting for us. As usual, the
5th graders were placed in a division with 6th grade teams. This, however, is something this team is now used to as they won two out of three games, finishing second in their division. This group is gaining a lot of respect everywhere they play....and for good reason!
The
7th graders got a good dose of what San Diego girls basketball is all about by facing three teams from San Diego county. The girls rolled to the finals with wins over Norco Mustangs, SD Piranhas and Solana Beach Cats but lost in an overtime thriller in the championship game to the host team SD Sol. Not bad considering they only had six players against the top team in San Diego. Great tournament for both teams!
