5th and 7th Graders Take 2nd at Seaside

The program traveled to Ventura last weekend to play in the Ventura Seaside tournament.  This is the third year in a row we have played in this tournament.  We like it because it draws teams from all over southern California.  The 5th Graders earned a spot in the championship game with solid victories over the Torrance Northstars and Pasadena Vikings.  They lost a tough won to the Aikanes Red team in the championship.  It was a game that could have gone either way. I am very proud of this team competing the way they did against one of the top clubs in California. The 7th Graders also made it to the championship in their division.  They did it by winning two nail bitters over the Torrance Northstars and the Pasadena Vikings.  They did it with great team chemistry, clutch free throw shooting and timely three pointers.  Unfortunately the magic stopped on Sunday with a tough loss to the Aikanes Red team.  Still a great tournament for this team.
