The VC Elite
7th grade team won the 7/8 division at the Ventura College Tournament last weekend. The championship almost slipped out of their hands on Saturday night against EO Green, but a last minute rally and clutch shooting in overtime helped pull it out. On Sunday they cruised to victories over the Quakes and Summit Hoops to claim the championship. Most of the girls on this team also helped out on the 8th grade team and played significant minutes because of injuries. It makes this championship even more impressive. The
8th graders won games over Alt Elite and Synergy but lost a nail bitter to the Lady Mustangs that would have put them in the championship game. It was maybe the game of the day and they had their chances but could not quite close the Mustangs out. Still a very good finish for this team. We will get them next time. Back to practice!
