VC Elite Wins Fall Classic

The club got an opportunity to play in a local tournament last weekend and they definitely made the most of it.  The 8th Grade team won their division with wins over the Santa Barbara Blazers, Trouble and the host team, Conejo Quakes.  They had lost to the Blazers a few weeks ago so that was a nice one.  The team was successful because of their swarming defense and their ability to make the big shots when they needed to.  Two weeks of practice should have this team primed for the Aloha tournament.

Once again the 5th Grade team played up in a 5th/6th grade division.  Despite being much smaller than their opponents, the team was able to stay competitive in every game and almost pulled an upset in their final game against Oxnard Force.  Coach Steve and I agreed that this team has progressed to another level and it's a matter of team before they start winning at the 6th grade level. Imagine how they will play when playing against girls their own age!!  We will find out in two weeks at the SGV Aloha tournament.
We are looking forward to the next tournament and plan on working hard at practice the next couple weeks to make sure we are ready.

Go Elite!!
