VC Elite Takes Two at Seaside

VC Elite traveled to Ventura last weekend to play in the Ventura Seaside tournament.  We had a strong showing in this tournament last year and were the defending champions in several divisions.
The high school team won their division with wins over Camarillo Thunder and the Aikanes on Saturday and winning the championship game on Sunday against Fusion.  They did it with great swarming defense.  That's two championships in a row!

The 6th graders also won their division.  They won their pool by beating the Ventura Heat and the Aikanes on Saturday.  On Sunday they won their semifinal game over the Northstars and the championship game over rivals Pasadena Vikings.  This team seams poised to go on another run.  Great teamwork girls!

The 7th graders had one win and two losses.  They had an impressive victory on Saturday over the Northstars but the injuries caught up with this team.  They lost to rivals Pasadena Vikings on Saturday and Team Edge on Sunday.  We should be completely healthy in time for the next tournament.  Keep working hard girls!

The 5th graders played in a very tough division and went one win and two losses.  They lost to the Aikanes in their opening game but followed it up with a victory over Oxnard.  On Sunday they lost a heartbreaker to the Torrance Northstars.  It was a great performance for this team against this level of competition.  I expect the 5th graders to win at least one tournament this Spring.  Keep hustling!

The 4th graders played in their first tournament ever and showed that they are team that is ready for great things.  The made it to the championship game losing in overtime to the Northstars.  To reach the championship game they posted victories over the Ventura Nets and Aikanes.  What a great accomplishment for a young team like this playing in their first tournament.  Awesome weekend girls!
